Our Story

We have been a fixture in Yorkville since 1986, a family-owned paint and hardware store tucked into the Upper East Side. Over the decades the neighborhood has changed around us, but the way we do things has not. We are still the place you walk into with a half-finished project and walk out of with a real plan, a quart of the right color, and the name of the person who helped you so you can ask for them next time.

Being family-owned means the people behind the counter actually care how your room turns out. We get to know our regulars, and over the years a lot of them have become friends. That is the part of this work we love most.

What We Believe

We believe a neighborhood hardware store should know more than a big-box aisle ever could. Our staff is hands-on and knowledgeable, and the advice you get here is honest and specific to your project, not a script. We would rather sell you the right thing once than the wrong thing twice. That kind of service only works when you stay long enough to learn a neighborhood, and we have been here for decades.

What We Do

As an authorized Benjamin Moore dealer, we carry the paint and finishes serious projects call for, and we match color with an in-store spectrophotometer so the shade you bring in is the shade you take home. Beyond paint, we offer a wide range of in-house services: expert color matching, lamp repair, knife sharpening, window screen repair, key duplication, custom lumber and wood cutting, and tool and carpet-machine rental. If a job needs it, chances are we can help you get it done.
