Starting from scratch? Start here.
The SodaStream Terra is $99.99 in black or white, and we have both on the shelf right now. No electricity, no plumbing, no batteries — fill the bottle, push the button, done.
Here is the part worth thinking about before you buy one anywhere else. A machine is a ten-minute decision. The gas is a forever decision. You will need a fresh cylinder every six to eight weeks for as long as you own it, and that is where the real cost of sparkling water lives. Buy the machine from a big box store and you are on your own for the part you actually need — mailing empties to a warehouse and waiting three days each time. Buy it from us and every refill after is $17.99 over this counter, in about a minute, forever.
We are not the cheapest place in America to buy a SodaStream. We are the most convenient place in Yorkville to keep one running. Those are different things, and the second one is what you will care about in year three.
How the CO2 exchange works — three steps
- Bring your empty in. Any 60L SodaStream cylinder. Doesn't matter where you bought it or how long it's been sitting in the cupboard.
- We check it and swap it. About a minute at the counter. We look at the threading, the date and the condition.
- You pay for the gas, not the bottle. $17.99. You already own a cylinder — you're just buying what goes in it.
No empty to trade? Then you're buying the aluminium bottle too, and that's $31.99. After that first one, every refill from then on is $17.99.
Blue or pink? Here's the thirty-second answer
| Blue — screw-in | Pink — Quick Connect | |
|---|---|---|
| How it goes in | Twists in like a lightbulb | Clicks in with one push |
| Machines it fits | Fizzi, One Touch, Jet, Genesis, Source, Power, Crystal | Terra, Art, Duo, Enso, E-Terra, Mix, Gaia |
Still not sure? Bring the cylinder in. We'll know on sight. That's the advantage of a person over a website.
Bottles wear out — check yours
Every carbonating bottle has an expiry date stamped near the base, usually three years from manufacture. It is there because the plastic holds real pressure every time you carbonate. Most people have never once looked at it. Go look at yours. If it's past date, we stock 1L two-packs at $34.99.
Why people walk here instead of ordering it
SodaStream will sell you an exchange online for a dollar less. Here's what that dollar buys you:
- You box the empty up, print a label and get it to a post office.
- You wait about three business days for the full one to arrive.
- You have 60 days to get the empty back to them, or they charge you $15 per cylinder.
Or you walk to 1st Avenue and it's done in a minute, with no clock running. That's the trade. Plenty of people happily take the dollar — we just think most of Yorkville would rather have the minute.
Delivery and pickup
Machines and bottles can be shipped anywhere, or delivered locally in Manhattan.
CO2 cylinders are pickup or local delivery only. A filled cylinder is compressed gas regulated by the US Department of Transportation. SodaStream ships them under a special DOT permit issued to them specifically, and that permit doesn't extend to us or any other independent retailer. So we bring cylinders to you ourselves, or you collect them here.
Common questions
Do I need to have bought the cylinder from you?
No. Any 60L SodaStream cylinder, from anywhere.
What if my cylinder isn't completely empty?
Bring it anyway. Price is the same. Most people swap slightly early rather than run out mid-glass.
How long does one cylinder last?
Up to 60 litres — roughly 126 sixteen-ounce bottles. A typical household gets six to eight weeks out of one.
Can I buy a spare so I never run out?
That's the smart move. Buy a second cylinder outright at $31.99, keep it under the sink, and swap whenever it's convenient instead of when you're desperate.
Which cylinder does the Terra use?
The pink Quick Connect. If you buy a Terra from us we'll make sure you leave with the right gas in your hand.
Do you take other brands?
Standard 60L SodaStream-threaded cylinders, yes. Bring anything unusual in and we'll look at it.
