Prewar radiators run hot and dry. Add a humidifier and a hygrometer, and we stock Hoffman steam vents and valves for radiators that bang, hiss or will not heat. Our crew can service them too.

Questions
Do you install things I bought elsewhere?
Yes. We set up equipment from any store. The visit price is the same whether the product came from us or somewhere else.
What does a visit cost?
A setup visit is $160 for 2 hours, which is our $80 per hour rate with a 2-hour minimum. Products are extra at store pricing. Hardwired electrical work, such as replacing a wall switch, is quoted separately.
Which smart home apps do you work with?
We set up whichever app your device uses. For Wi-Fi bulbs and switches that support it, we can also connect them to Alexa or Google Home. Tell us the product when you send the form and we will confirm before the visit.
Do you do hardwired switches and dimmers?
Wall switches and dimmers are electrical work, so they are quoted separately from the setup visit. Call 212-249-1614 before you buy and we will tell you whether it is a good fit for your apartment and what it would cost.
How humid should my apartment be?
The EPA recommends keeping indoor humidity below 50 percent. Steam heat can dry the air out in winter, so a humidifier with a small hygrometer on the windowsill lets you see where you are and avoid overdoing it.
Do you test water?
No, we do not offer lab water testing. New York City offers residents free lead test kits, which you can request through the city at nyc.gov or by calling 311. We can help you pick and install a filter once you know what you need.
